In the past years I have used various public sources to determine and verify the geographic information of my public ip address on the Internet.
I used this geopgraphic information to check the anonymity function of VPN providers, such as NordVPN, PureVPN and AirVPN. At the moment I frequently use AirVPN and I want to use Linux bash scripts and Python programs to verify my external public IP address is hidden. In the search for valuable sources on the Internet I discovered that there is no comprehensive overview of this. And so I decided to start one myself. Please take a look at the IP Geo page for more. If you have additions or improvements, please contact me. It is striking to see that these different sources show different geo information. And I do not mean difference in locations (city), but even differerence in the country information. The question then always is: which source is accurate and reliable? |
